Today, Mimi and I just met with my hemato-oncologist to review the results of my last PET scan. The doctor noticed that the PET scan showed a new area of increased metabolic activity... which she emphasized the illness doesn't wait.
She indicated the same treatment plan as before: K-GEMOX. I will be starting in 30 days from today, which is around June 12th.
I asked how serious my situation is, and she said I'm not in a serious condition, but I need to start treatment at least within the next 30 days.
Next steps
- Continue to pray Jehovah for His peace, wisdom and strength.
- Submit the treatment plan to my insurance company for approval.
- The chemotherapy drugs will be covered by my insurance.
- The inmunotherapy drug will not be covered by my insurance, so I will have to ask higher authorities for approval.
- Have an hemogram test.
- Have a STRAIN electrocardiogram (ECG) test.
- Schedule another appointment with the oncologist to review the results of the ECG test and start the treatment plan.
